FedEx introduced direct to consumer wine shipping services for legal wine shipments to approved International Destinations effective October 9, 2008.

My son travels to Italy quite often and usually just makes the shipping arrangement directly with the Winery or Enoteca. They have the shipping arrangements down to a science. You will likely receive a cost break if you ship at least 1 case. Ask around the town before you buy if your not sure.

Recent shipments that I made and have received are all getting to their destinations in a timely fashion. Quite amazing for this time of year :)
