Here's a fun site I happened on to this afternoon -- www.wineeducation.com. There's even a fun interactive gavem you can play where you run a winery for 20 years.

Hey - thanks so much for the www.wineeducation.com tip! I recently purchased a book entitled: Juice Jargon (how to talk about wine) by Stephen Reiss. Already, I can think of several who will want to purchase this great read. Actually, it would make an awesome Christmas gift for those who love wine but don't know much about it.

A friend asked me the other day if I knew what Brix meant to the wine world. Help! Is there a fellow Corktrader who knows the answer?

Trent, I think it's the measure of the sugar content of grapes before they are harvested. . . used to estimate the alcohol content of the resulting wine. Hope this helps!
