grapetade, from what I have gathered from the FAQ on the site they recommend escrow.com. i do know this company is the Ebay approved escrow company in the US. I suppose if you were going to swap with someone you didn't know and decided to use their services both members would deposit an agreed amount into an escrow account. Once you received the other persons wine then then your escrow funds are released to the other member and vice versa.

I've heard of people using escrow.com for other transactions and they've had good luck. That's probably the route I'll go when I find someone to trade with that lives outside of driving distance...

After I completed a trade do the bottles automatically get taken out of "my cellar"? What about the bottles I agreed to take, will they be added into "my cellar"

Grapetrade, This info is from the FAQ section. Hope this helps.
Once a trade is complete are the wines that were traded automatically removed from a member’s cellar.
Yes, once a trade is complete Corktraders.com will automatically remove the specified wines from a members’ cellar. However, Corktraders.com will never add wines into a member’s cellar upon completion of a trade. If the individual user wants to add a wine they received in a trade, it is up to them to manually enter it in their cellar once they receive it.

Escrow.com has worked for me. Many have recommended it.
