How does a member locate wine they want to trade for?
Finding wines available for trade can be done in a couple of different ways. When a member finds a wine they want to trade for, how do they make an offer?
When a member locates a wine they would like to trade for, all they need to do to initiate the trade is to select the “T” (trade button). After they have selected the wines they want, they select the bottles from their cellar that they are willing to offer for trade.

Once a trade is complete are the wines that were traded automatically removed from a member’s cellar.
Yes, once a trade is complete Corktraders.com will automatically remove the specified wines from a members’ cellar. However, Corktraders.com will never add wines into a member’s cellar upon completion of a trade. If the individual user wants to add a wine they received in a trade, it is up to them to manually enter it in their cellar once they receive it.

top

Can items be removed once they are posted in a member’s cellar?
Yes. Wines can be added or removed to/from a member’s cellar at any time. However, if a bottle is deleted that is included in an “open trade” or is “on the table” (included in current trade negotiations) the parties involved in the trade will be notified that the trade has been modified and they will be responsible for adding or deleting items to accommodate this change.

What is a wish list?
A wish list is a list that tells people which wines members would like to add to their collection. By viewing a member’s wish list, members can learn about the desires of other members and use that as a guide to negotiate a successful trade.

SAFE TRADING

How can members ensure that they’re making a safe trade?
There are a variety of options to ensure that a safe trade is made. An obvious option is to trade among members who already know each other and to meet in a designated, safe location for the exchange. If members are making a large trade and cannot meet in person, they may want to agree on an independent third party to act as the moderator for the exchange. Other services such as escrow.com where members can deposit a specified dollar amount which acts an insurance policy until their wine is received and inspected may be a good resource for some members. Corktraders, Inc. leaves it up to individual traders to negotiate such services within each trade agreement.

top

Who should members trade with?
Trading depending on a few different factors: All members are responsible for following all local, state, federal and international shipping laws when trading with other members. It is ideal for to trade among members who already know one another; however, Corktraders has provided a user rating system for members to review other members’ feedback. This tool will show positive, neutral and negative feedback and can be used as a guide when deciding who to trade with. Trading feedback is created strictly by other members, not Corktraders.com.  Learn more about Corktraders Feedback here.
